Panasonic tough books having issue with Zero IT connectivity

Question

Why Panasonic tough books are not connecting to Zero-IT wlan ?

Customer Environment

ZD 3000 on 9.8.0.0.373 version

Root Cause

These new technologies are much newer than the old Intel NIC drivers, which does not recognize/support k and r or its supplicants.

Workaround

- Upgrading these WiFi? adapter drivers sometime solves this issue but not every time, Especially Intel WiFi? link 5100 works with just an update to a latest driver version.

Resolution

- Disabled 802.11r FT Roaming and 802.11k Neighbor-list Report.
- The Panasonic laptops with windows XP started to join the Zero-IT wlan without any problem.
