Ruckus One (R1) uses OAuth 2.0 for all supported social media authentication methods. In this process, Ruckus acts solely as a pass-through service and does not store or process user credentials.
The authentication itself is performed directly on the respective social media provider’s servers (for example, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, etc.). Once authentication is completed, the social media provider returns an OAuth 2.0 authorization token to Ruckus One, indicating whether the user is authorized to access the WLAN service.
At no point are the user’s username or password shared with or stored by Ruckus One. Credential handling remains entirely within the social media provider’s infrastructure, in accordance with their own security policies and terms and conditions.
