Upgrade Methods:
The process explaining the Access Points Upgrade:
There are two ways to upgrade your RUCKUS R510 Access Points:
1. Online Upgrade (Recommended)
This is the simplest method. Your Access Point downloads and installs the update directly from RUCKUS servers.
Steps:
1. Connect your computer or mobile device to your RUCKUS Wi-Fi network.
2. Open a web browser and go to the Unleashed Web Interface:
Type https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com or Master AP IP Address in the URL address bar.
3. Log in with your Admin Username and Password.
4. Navigate to: Admin & Services ? Administration ? Upgrade.
5. Select Online Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions. (Figure 1)

2. Local Upgrade (Alternative Method)
If the online upgrade doesn’t work or doesn’t offer the required version, you can manually install the firmware.
Steps:
1. Download the firmware file for version 200.15.6.212.27 from the official RUCKUS link: Download Firmware Patch (Figure 2)
2. Save the file to your computer.
3. Connect to your RUCKUS Wi-Fi and open the Unleashed Web Interface.
4. Log in, then go to: Admin & Services ? Administration ? Upgrade.
5. Select Local Upgrade. (Figure 3)
6. Upload the firmware file you downloaded.
7. Click Upgrade and wait for the process to complete.
(Your AP will restart — Wi-Fi will be temporarily unavailable during this time.)

Resolution
- Stable Power & Network: Keep the AP powered on and connected to a stable internet (for Online upgrade) or local network (for Local upgrade) during the process. Interruptions may cause failures.
- Browser Compatibility: Use an updated browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge) for best results when accessing the Unleashed login portal.
- Upgrade During Maintenance Window: Perform the upgrade during off-peak hours to minimize downtime for connected users.
- Verify Post-Upgrade: After completion, confirm the firmware version under : Admin & Services ? System ? Upgrade and test basic connectivity.
- Clear Browser Cache: If you face login or display issues post-upgrade, clear your browser cache or try logging in from a different browser.
- AP Cluster Consistency: Ensure all Access Points in the Unleashed network are upgraded to the same firmware version for stability.
