How to remove an in-use Identity Group from the DPSK Server on Ruckus One.

Symptoms

These are the potential errors the user might see:

  • An identity group cannot be deleted
  • Error message indicating the group is in use
  • DPSK user profiles or bindings still referencing the group.


 



 

Root Cause

Identity groups cannot be removed if linked to: (1) Active DPSK users (2) Existing DPSK keys (3) Authentication policies (4) Device or user assignments (5) Any configuration referencing the group.

Resolution

Steps to Remove an In?Use Identity Group
1. Verify Identity Assignments
Go to Clients ? Identity Groups ? Identities and check whether any identities are mapped to the target Identity Group.
If identities are present, delete them.

2. Check DPSK Service Associations
Confirm whether any DPSK Service is currently linked to the Identity Group.

3. Delete the Associated DPSK Service
Navigate to Network Control ? My Services ? DPSK and delete the DPSK service associated with the Identity Group.

4. Validate DPSK Service Dependencies Before Deletion
Before deleting the DPSK service, ensure the following:

WLAN Usage:

  • Check if any WLAN is using the DPSK service.
  • If yes, either remove the DPSK service from the WLAN or delete the WLAN itself.


Note: If deleting a WLAN, ensure it is not enabled in any Venue.

Passphrase Associations:

  • Confirm whether any Passphrases are tied to the DPSK service.
  • Delete these Passphrases before proceeding

5. Delete the Identity Group
Once all dependencies have been removed, navigate to:
Clients ? Identity Groups ? Select the Identity Group ? Delete
The Identity Group should now delete successfully.
