Technical Support Bulletin TSB-2014-014-0[1]

Description: 8510-4 and 8510-8 units shipped between December 2013 and February 2014 may experience difficulty when installing/seating core blades when only using the ejector handles to insert. Insufficient seating of the core blade may also cause Power-On-Self-Test (POST) failures on the newly installed port blades. When the core blades are fully seated, 8510-x units are completely functional and no action needs to be taken. Spare core blades (part # xxx-DCX8518-0106) shipped between December 2013 and April 2014 may have ejector levers near the edge of their design tolerance, and to ensure some margin for suspect levers, spare core blades shipped between October 2013 through April 18 2014 will be replaced. If a chassis is currently deployed and functional, there is no seating concern.
