How do we process replacements for the End-of-Life Access Points when we do not have stock in local warehouse?
- If we do not have stock of the requested EOL Access Points, need to check if there’s stock/Inventory transfers already in place by the Planning team.
- If there’s one, keep the customer informed on the ETA & process the replacement after receiving it in the warehouse.
- If there’s NO, stock transfer check with Planning team if they can initiate a stock transfer IF we’d it in any of the warehouse globally.
- If Planning team confirms that we do not have stock anywhere, we will have to offer the customer the next available part suggested by PLM along with the EOL notification document from support portal.
We value your business and relationship. We regret to inform you that the requested part 901-XXXX-WW00 is an End-of-Life (EOL) product & we’ve ran out of stock.
We understand the criticality of getting your network up & running ASAP, so we want to look out for an alternate Access Point. To move forward the next available model we can offer you is 901-XXXX-WW00/901-XXXX-WW00/901-XXXX-WW00/901-XXXX-WW00 (provide the list as per the part availability in our local warehouse) as suggested by RUCKUS Product Life Cycle Management (PLMs) team.
We’ve also attached you the EOL notification for your reference.
- If customer responds back accepting the PLM suggested part, process the replacement.
- If customer responds back stating that the PLM suggested part isn’t suitable/compatible with his environment, we need to respond back with the standard verbiage that RUCKUS is liable to provide like to like or an equivalent replacement. Use the below template.

As per RUCKUS warranty terms, we are liable to provide to like to like replacement or a product equivalent to the defective. (Attach the RUCKUS Warranties FAQ from support portal)
In those terms, the provided list of access points is equivalent model to the model what you had & therefore RUCKUS will not be fulfilling replacements as per customers environment.
- If customer still resists, address the situation to the respective region SSL, Account Manager RMA Manager for further assistance.
- Attached a word document which contains the email templates.
- Attached a excel spreadsheet which contains the PLM suggested model from the support portal.
