CLI command to reset the standalone AP to factory default settings

Summary

Factory reset of standalone AP from CLI

Question

How to factory reset standalone AP from CLI mode

Customer Environment

Standalone AP

Resolution

Log-in to the AP CLI using Putty application.

set factory is the command to reset the Standalone AP to factory default settings.

rkscli: set factory
Factory defaults will take effect after reboot
OK
rkscli: reboot
Rebooting... please wait.

Once the AP is rebooted the AP will goes to factory default settings with an IP address of 192.168.0.1.

Note: If there is a DHCP server in the network then the AP will be obtaining IP address from the DHCP server as APs are DHCP clients. A good best-practice is to statically assign IP addresses using MAC address mapping on your DHCP server so that you have a reliable IP address to refer to when accessing an AP.
