The ZoneDirector will periodically connect to Ruckus and Ruckus will collect the ZoneDirector serial number, software version and build number. Ruckus will transmit a file back to the ZoneDirector and this will be used to display the current status of the ZoneDirector Support ContractResolution
How to block Information from the ZoneDirector being transmitted back to Ruckus. This feature was introduced in ZoneFlex software version 9.8.The easiest way to do this is to create a static route that sends the reporting request to a "false" gateway.
From a command prompt on a PC ping supportactivation.ruckuswireless.com and gather the IP address.
Then in Configure >System create a static route that goes to a "false" gateway.
The "false" gateway must be an address that is in the same subnet as the ZD
When completed, it will look like this.
One thing to note is that the User will not be able to do the automatic Support Service entitlement update with this route in place. The User will have to navigate to the Ruckus Support Website (https://support.ruckuswireless.com/entitlement_file) to download the entitlement file which can then be manually uploaded to the ZD.
When the static route has been successfully configured, the User will be presented with a "Network error" message on the ZD. This indicates that the ZD is not able to connect and provide information to Ruckus.
