  1. Screenshot of the error message
  2. VAR login email id
  3. End user login id
  4. Name of the VAR company account
  5. Name of the End user company account

Resolution

Which are the SmartZone Controllers?
  • Ruckus Controllers SZ 100, SZ 300, SZ 144, SCG-200 (running firmware 3.2 or above), Virtual SmartZone (vSZ) are classified as SmartZone Controllers.

What Information does the SmartZone Entitlement File contain?
 
  • SmartZone Entitlement File is ".bin" File.
  •  The file name will be in the format xxxxxxxxxx.bin (Serial Number followed by ".bin" extension).
  •  ".bin" File will contains the latest Activated Support on the Controller, Support on AP Licenses (above 5.2 version), Capacity Licenses and all the Feature Licenses added to the Serial Number of the Controller.

Why is the SmartZone Entitlement File required?

Uploading the latest ".bin" file on the Controller will,

  • Update the RTU information as in LiMAN
  • Update the Support on the Controller as in LiMAN (Please Note : Active Support contract on the Controller is required to upgrade the Firmware on the Controller)
  • Update the Capacity License Count (includes AP and Switch) (Please Note : Updated License Count on the Controller is required to connect devices)
  • Update the Data Plane (vSZ-D) License Count (Please Note : Updated vSZ-D License Count on the Controller is required for the Data Plane to connect to the Virtual SmartZone (vSZ) controller)
  • Update all the Feature Licenses added to the Serial Number


How do I get the Support Entitlement File for SmartZone Controllers? 

  • ".bin" File will include Support and Licenses added to the Controller.
  • ''.bin" File cane be downloaded from  Support Portal >LiMAN 
 

Steps to Download Virtual/LiMAN Licenses for vSPoT, vSCG, SCI, SZ, vRIoT, and SCG controllers:

  • Takes you to the LiMAN (Smart License Manager) Portal
  • All the Virtual Devices registered under your account will be listed here

  • Click on the Serial Number of the Controller from the Registered Smart Devices
  • Click the Download Icon as displayed in the below image.
  • License File with Serial Number followed by (.bin) extension will be downloaded.
  • Check your  "Downloads" Folder for the File.

Steps to sync the Licenses on Controller GUI:
  • If the Controller has access to Internet > Login to Controller GUI> Click on Administration > Licenses > SYNC NOW.


Steps to manually Upload Licenses on the Virtual Controllers GUI:

  • Login to Controller GUI navigate to Administration > License.
  • Click on Upload license (browse the file from Download folder)
  • Click on Upload
  • Once the License File is successfully uploaded, you will see the updated License Count on the License page

How can a Ruckus Partner/VAR Download Licenses from LiMan on behalf of their End user :

To Download Licenses from LiMan on behalf of their End user, VAR should first masquerade as the End User.

Steps to masquerade as the End User:

  • Log into Support Portal,
  • Click on View Customers
  • The VAR contact should be able to view the List of End Users
  • Click on the End User Account Name
  • Click on Switch To The Account
  • Now the VAR/Reseller contact can Masquerade as the end user contact. (You can stop "masquerading" as the End User contact, by clicking on "Return to being yourself")
  •  
Once the VAR has Masqueraded/Switched to the End User Account, VAR can Download the Licenses from LiMAN.

Steps to Download Licenses from End User's LiMAN:
  • Click on LiMAN 
  • Click on the Device Serial Number to which you wish to download the Licenses.    
  • Click on the Download License (shown as License) the License File will be download with a (.bin) extension.

Steps to sync the Licenses on Controller GUI:
  • If the Controller has access to Internet > Login to Controller GUI> Click on Administration > Licenses > SYNC NOW.
