How to do a backup in SCI / vSPoT

Neither SCI nor vSPoT have backup capabilities. Taking a snapshot with your VM is the only option.

How to do a backup in SCI or vSPoT?

Customer Environment

SCI and vSPoT environment

Root Cause

Need to have backup of the old files.

Symptoms

Need to have backup of the old files if there's a sudden issue in VM instance

Resolution

vSPoT and SCI don't have their own feature of backup. You can utulize the backup feature of your VM.

1. Login to VM
2. Choose the vSPoT or SCI instances
3. Right click on it --> select take snapshot option
4. It will ask you to snapshot file to your local PC

Note: When you restore a snapshot, you basically go back to the state when the snapshot was taken.
You cannot combine data together with another SCI / vSPoT instance.
