Minimum Code Level to Onboard Cloud ICX Switch

This article explains the minimum firmware requirement for an ICX switch to be onboarded and managed by Ruckus One (R1) platform

Customers using RUCKUS One to manage ICX7xxx, ICX8200, or ICX8100 series switches.

ICX switch fails to onboard

Device stay in "Never Contacted Cloud" status in R1 UI

Cloud discovery or registration does not complete

The ICX switch is not running the minimum required firmware version to initiate onboarding to RUCKUS One.

Run the following command on the switch to confirm the active firmware:

show version
```
Verify the switch firmware meets the minimum onboarding requirement:
- ICX7xxx Series: 08.0.90d (UFI) minimum
- ICX8200 / ICX8100: 10.0.10f_cd1R1 minimum
- For managed firmware upgrades: RUCKUS One uses 09.0.10h as the managed baseline (do not manually upgrade unless directed by Support)

To onboard to RUCKUS One, ICX switches must meet the following minimum versions:

Series	Minimum Code Level
ICX7xxx	08.0.90d (UFI)
ICX8200 / ICX8100	10.0.10f_cd1R1
RUCKUS One Managed Firmware	09.0.10h (Do not upgrade beyond this manually)

Switches labeled “Cloud-Ready” also meet onboarding requirements.

Perform manual upgrades using the following recommended paths:

If running 08.0.80 flat ? 08.0.90c
Upgrade directly to 08.0.95ca (UFI)
If running 08.0.70 patch or earlier:
Multi?step upgrade required:

08.0.70 (or older) ? 08.0.80f (non-UFI) ? 08.0.95ca (UFI)
