As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our services, our Captive Portal self-sign-in SMS-based authentication system will receive modifications to ensure the efficient use of our SMS resources. Key Changes

Limited One-Time Gesture: We are excited to announce that upon the effective date, as an initial gesture, we will allow 100 messages for your experimentation. This will give you an opportunity to assess and adapt to the changes smoothly.
You will be able to monitor usage of your one-time gesture messages directly in RUCKUS One. In the tool bar on the left, click on Administration and then Account Settings to see your available allotment. You can set an SMS Provider from this page as well.
Users will receive an email when 80% of SMS text messages have been used.

Transition to Alternative Options: After utilizing the 100 messages, you will be required to choose from alternative authentication methods or provide your own SMS provider. We offer several options including social media platforms such as (X, Google, LinkedIn, Facebook) for seamless sign-in experiences

Email-based Captive Portal Authentication: We’ve added an additional way for your network users to authenticate using a One Time Passcode, they would simply enter their details and email address to authenticate with the email provided token.
You can choose email as an authentication option as part of captive portal creation.

Choose your own SMS provider: RUCKUS One now allows customers to select a provider for SMS text service, e.g. Twilio, and provide network authentication with One Time Passcode provided in text to the network users Mobile phones.
You can change your SMS text provider from your Account Settings page.
