Why is the customer seeing "AP/DP version mismatch" message?Customer Environment
vSZ and vDP version: R6.1.2 AP Zone version: R6.1.0Symptoms
- Multiple "AP/DP version mismatch" messages recorded in event logs.
- Observed after upgrading vSZ/vDP to a higher version where as APs remained in the lower version. In this case, vSZ/vDP were upgraded to R6.1.2 while AP Zone remained on R6.1.0.
Root Cause
The mismatch occurs because the vSZ/vDP software version is higher than the AP Zone version. This triggers the system to log an informational message indicating version inconsistency.Troubleshooting Steps
- Verify the versions of vSZ, vDP, and AP Zone.
- Confirm that the AP Zone is running on R6.1.0 and vSZ/vDP on R6.1.2.
- Check event logs for repeated version mismatch messages.
Workaround
No immediate action required if APs are functioning normally.
Resolution
The message is informational and designed to alert users about version inconsistency.
- Ideally, keep vSZ/vDP and AP Zone on the same version to avoid potential incompatibility.
- However, if the DP version is higher than the AP version, it is generally acceptable and should not impact functionality.
