5G LED of wave 1 & 2 AP is off

Summary

5G LED of wave 1 & AP is off with SCG AP image if original image was R110 standalone image.

Question

Why 5G LED of R310 is off?

Customer Environment

3 node SZ100 cluster + over 1000 APs Software version is 3.4.2.x.

Root Cause

R110.x.x.x image does not have compatibility with 3.4.2 and earlier image, so if AP with R110.x.x.x image joins to SZ/SCG with 3.4.2 and earlier image, you will see 5G LED problem.

Symptoms

LED of some of R310s is off, but LED of others is on.

Troubleshooting Steps

Check if AP has the following configuration.
- get rpmkey wsgclient/managed

If AP hits this issue, output will be as below.
rkscli: get rpmkey wsgclient/managed
Error: (bad key: wsgclient/managed)

If AP does not hit this issue, out put will be as below:
rkscli: get rpmkey wsgclient/managed
wsgclient/managed = 1
OK

Workaround

Try the following commands on AP CLI.

1. set rpmkey wsgclient/managed 1
2. reboot

Resolution

There are 2 resolutions.
1. R3.5 does not have this issue
2. R104 standalone can work fine with R3.4 and earlier image
