Ruckus’s official warranty is posted online at http://support.ruckuswireless.com/warranty. For questions concerning warranty coverage, please refer to our Warranty Page which describes the current warranty policies for all Ruckus products.

If you wish to initiate a warranty claim for a defective Controller (SZ100 or vSCG), follow the instructions below.

Applicable to any SZ100 or vSCG Controller:

1)           Contact Ruckus Support to initiate a warranty claim. You can reach our team HERE.

2)           To be eligible for warranty coverage, you will need to provide certain information about the covered products, including product name, product number, serial number, and date of purchase. To assist Ruckus in determining coverage eligibility and the cause of the problem, please be prepared to describe the symptoms, when the symptoms first occurred, troubleshooting steps that have been taken, software versions used and other details about the operating environment.

3)           If Ruckus determines that a replacement unit is required, they will create an RMA for the defective Controller (SZ100 or vSCG).

4)           At the time that Ruckus creates the RMA, all licenses that were registered to the SZ100 (Right to Use, Number of APs, Tunnel License and Support) will be transferred from the specified defective Controller to your existing LiMAN License pool, HERE

The key to the transfer is based upon the Controller serial number and so it is important that this is correct. Once this step has been completed the original Controller will lose all of its license(s) and may cease operation.

Additionally for a SZ100 Controller only:

5)           If Ruckus Wireless determine that a replacement unit is required, they will provide full instructions as to the next steps including shipping instructions etc.

6)           Once your licenses have been transferred (by Ruckus Support) back to your LiMAN License pool, you are then free to distribute to any SZ100 controller that you have or you can wait for the RMA replacement SZ100 to arrive. Once it has arrived, you can assign the licenses to the replacement SZ100. You have to wait for the replacement SZ100 to arrive because you will need its serial number. Please make sure that you assign all the relevant licenses to the new SZ100. For help with assigning licenses please click here.

Additionally for a vSCG Controller only:

5)           Seeing as there is no actual transfer of hardware is required for a defective vSCG, you are free to spin up a new instance of vSCG.

6)           Once your licenses have been transferred (by Ruckus Support) back to your LiMAN License pool, you are then free to distribute to any new vSCG Controller. Be sure to have the new vSCG serial number available as this is required. Make sure that you assign all the relevant licenses to the new vSCG.
